OpenClaw v2026.5.14-beta.2 Released with Proxyline Migration, Per-Agent Bootstrap Overrides, and Enhanced Status Reactions

OpenClaw v2026.5.14-beta.2 landed May 15th, 2026, with a substantial list of changes spanning channels, agents, plugins, and the Control UI.

Key changes:

  • Proxyline migration — ambient Node proxy agents are now routed through @openclaw/proxyline, dropping the root proxy-agent, https-proxy-agent, and minimatch dependencies
  • Per-agent bootstrap overrides — agents can now set contextInjection, bootstrapMaxChars, and bootstrapTotalMaxChars individually, inheriting from agents.defaults when omitted (fixes #69966, thanks @BunsDev)
  • Codex app-server — commentary preambles stream into editable channel progress drafts without promoting to final answers; the bundled codex-cli backend is removed and legacy codex-cli/* model refs repaired to the Codex app-server route
  • WhatsApp status reactionsStatusReactionController wired into WhatsApp message turns, with new emoji categories (🧠 thinking, 🛠️ tool, 💻 coding, 🌐 web, ⏳ stallSoft, ⚠️ stallHard, ✅ done, ❌ error, 🗜️ compacting)
  • Control UI text size — browser-local Text size setting in Appearance and Quick Settings, scaling chat and dense UI text
  • DeepSeek ds4 provider — new dedicated provider page with local DeepSeek V4 Flash config, on-demand startup, and live verification steps
  • Release validation — added package-installed Docker user-journey lane verifying onboarding, mocked model setup, plugin install/uninstall, ClickClack messaging, and Gateway restart survival

The release also includes a maintainer tooling addition: a repo-local codex-review skill for Codex closeout reviews that reruns until no accepted/actionable findings remain.
